Standards

The discipline of PM must have rigorous standards and guidelines to define the professional work of PM practitioners. Thus, at the heart of PMAN is the International Project Management Association (IPMA) Competence Baseline (ICB) as a reference for all our training. Whereas for certifications IPMA's 4-L standards has been adopted. For project excellence model, we use IPMA's International Project Excellence Model which is used every year by the international assessors to select winning projects.

In addition to ICB, Association of Project Management (APM) Body of Knowledge www.apm.org.uk (forty-six knowledge areas required to manage any successful project) is also referenced on a need basis. For training, materials from PM Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), Project Managemetn Institute (PMI), is also referenced.

In near future, PMAN will also work with members to establish standards unique to the cultural makeup of Nepal. These standards will be incorporated into Nepal's first National Competence Baseline (NCB).
