IPMA and The APM Group sign agreement to support each other.
The International Project Management Association (IPMA) and The APM Group are pleased to announce they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding which will enable the two organisations to support and recognise each other.
Since the inception of Asia Pacific Federation of Project Management in 2010, annual APFPM meeting has been held in Hong Kong. This year the meeting is scheduled for March 17th, 2012 at Regal Hotel, 88 Yee Wo Street, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. Representatives of PM associations of respective counties (Chile, USA, Singapore, México, Japan, Indonesia, India, China, Canada and Australia) will gather and meet for reviewing APFPM agenda and strategies to bring in more regional member associations on board and also launching APFPM Excellence Award.
The IPMA Award Management Board organized two International PE Award Assessors Trainings this year. One iin Kathmandu, Nepal and other in Milan, Italy, to prepare assessor's role this year. We are very pleased with the outcome of the training.
Project Management Association of Nepal (PMAN), has completed Project Management Foundation Training in Kathmandu, Nepal in April 2 - 3, 2011. The two-day training was targeted for project managers, project management practitioners and those who are interested in the field of project management. The course curricula included history and objectives of IPMA and PMI; introduction of PMBOK®4 and ICB3.0 and their respective 42 process groups and 46 competence elements; and IPMA 4-L-C certifications criteria, process and requirements.
A first ever international PM conference with a theme of "Project Management for Results" was a great success and has been one of the major milestones of PMAN. A three-day event which kicked off on Saturday, May 28th, 2011 at Gokarna Forest Resort, Kathmandu, Nepal, attracted PM participants from 15 different nations, including keynote speakers.
Mr. Prabesh Aryal, Ex-Officio Board Member of PMAN, represented Nepal in this national event. Mr. Aryal, who is also PMAN representative for Asia Pacific Forum for PM (APFPM), represented both in the conference and the APFPM meeting. PMAN has been playing an active role in website development of APFPM, excellence awards standard development and other regional activities.
“The 24th IPMA World Congress - Challenges and Opportunities” was held in Istanbul, Turkey, between 1-3 November, 2010. In this annual international event, total of eleven PMAN members, including national president Mr. Tikajit Rai, General Secretary, Mr. Suraj Dahal, and PMAN Young Crew members represented Nepal.
The Project Excellence Model is the assessment tool that is being used by the International Project Management Association to award, annually at its World Congress, the best of the best project teams for their excellent management processes and results.
New Delhi, India, hosted "18th Global Symposium 2010" between December 6 and 8, 2010. The event will include thematic topics ranging from Managing Infrastructure Projects to Lessons learnt from Best Practices from Asia Pacific Region.
25th IPMA World Congress 2011 in Brisbane, Australia will have theme of ‘Delivering the Promise’ which is expected to strike at the very core of what project and program management is fundamentally about.
For the first time in Nepal, a PMAN, in association with Management Association Nepal (MAN) organized a Project Management workshop at Hotel Manaslu, Lazimpat, Kathmandu, from 15th till 20th September, 2010. This event was also International Project Management Association's (IPMA) first ever Coaching for Development (C4D) workshop on how PM Young Crew are to help developing and under developing countries will be a historic event.
